Science and technology parks have leading key role in knowledge-sharing

Luis Sanz, Director General of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP), met the leaders of Hungarian science and technology parks during his visit to Hungary on 15th January in Budapest.

The Director General introduced the IASP, the only global organization for science parks, in a presentation at the Assembly of the Hungarian Association of Science and Technology Parks (HASP).
The organization has accumulated a unique knowledge base in the development of science parks, innovation regions and business incubators during its existence by having nearly 400 science parks members from 77 countries around the world.

The main task of science parks and similar development models is to give knowledge access to the market as easily as possible so as to be the engine of modern economic development.
Knowledge economy requires knowledge-based services; choosing the right development strategy is crucial.
Creating the right business model can significantly shorten the learning curve, which is one of the foundations of competitiveness – highlighted Luis Sanz.

IASP and HASP are key figures to help developing science and technology parks.
Hungary has been represented in the international organization since 2017 by the Association of Industrial, Science, Innovation and Technology Parks (IPE). The common goal is to help the first Hungarian STPs to join the IASP this year.
